Do something good for yourself while doing good for others! Help The Yoga Room’s new aspiring teachers and give back to our community at the same time. Come to a Karma Class taught by one of our recent Yoga Immersion apprentice teachers, and your donation (suggested $10-$15/class) will go to the charity of the apprentice teacher’s choice.
Our first Karma Class series will be on Saturdays, December 8, 15 and 22, 10-11am. Mallory Hood, a 2012 Yoga Immersion graduate, will be leading an Ashtanga class each Saturday. Ashtanga is the perfect practice for this time of year — the set sequence of postures led by the teacher allows our mind to calm down and take a break from all the busy-ness of the season, and the heat we build through the practice helps our body to detoxify all of the holiday excesses!
Mallory is a digital librarian in Ann Arbor, and has been taking yoga classes at The Yoga Room for two years. A former gymnast, she has previously coached women’s gymnastics at all age levels. You might find her running 5Ks on weekends, bowling on her company’s league, or playing catcher on her softball team. Her favorite yoga pose is Handstand.
Having worked with homelessness & re-entry social justice groups in college, Mallory has chosen to donate all the proceeds from her Karma Classes to SOS Community Services, which works to end homelessness for families in Washtenaw County.
Come to just one class or come to all three! Space is limited; contact Christy to reserve your spot in advance, or show up that day and take your chances!
