Group Yoga Classes

Do you sit at a desk or work on a computer all day? Are you looking down at your phone right now to read this? Our posture affects everything from breathing to hormone production: our lung capacity, nervous system function, spine/jaw/headache pain, mood, blood pressure, energy level and even our digestive system.

If you’ve been a student of mine for any length of time, you know that I have a strong emphasis on good posture in my yoga classes. Now I have designed a whole 7-week course where you will learn about the health effects of good and bad posture, and what you can do to see tangible improvements in your posture in 7 weeks. As you are expertly guided through 7 yoga sequences, you will work to stretch what’s tight, strengthen what’s weak, re-align your spine and cultivate greater awareness about what ‘proper’ posture is.

Audio
Put the screens away, close your eyes and turn your focus inward as you are expertly guided through this series of 7 audio classes. A new sequence is delivered to your inbox weekly and is available for you to stream for 1 week with the intention of helping to keep you committed to your weekly yoga practice--just as if you were coming to a weekly in-person class. Choose to stream (Christy's) Hatha or Vinyasa sequences or (Christina's) Yin sequences.

Are you more of a visual learner? Would like to supplement your weekly practice with additional BONUS classes? Enjoy an on-demand Video Library of Christy's classes (Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin) and meditations, for all enrolled students to use at their convenience during the 7-week course. New videos continue to be added, and include sequences from the Soothing Yoga for Stressful Times, Core Transformer and 7 Weeks To Better Posture courses.

Outdoor
Miss seeing your yoga community in person and having your teacher keep a good eye on your form? I will continue to offer outdoor pop-up poolside classes for as long as the weather will cooperate this Fall! Spaces will be limited for social-distancing purposes. Available to all enrolled students, but you must reserve a spot in advance. Be on the look-out for announcements of these pop-up classes throughout this 7-week course.

HATHA

Great for beginners and those wanting a more mellow practice.

Gradually increase strength and flexibility while relieving stress and tension. AM Hatha: A more energizing class to help wake you up and set a positive tone for your day. PM Hatha: A calming, slower-paced class to help you unwind at the end of your day.

VINYASA

Best for students in good physical condition or with prior yoga experience.

Ann Arbor's Original Vinyasa! This alignment-enhanced style of Vinyasa offers a practice that is fluid and fun, but at the same time safe and sustainable. Increase your strength, flexibility and memory in this heat-building style by learning the sequence and then flowing on your own!

YIN

Good for all levels, especially those wanting a great stretch.

Yin Yoga has been coined the "quiet practice". A variety of leg, hip, back and shoulder stretches are held for 3-5 minutes in an attempt to go deep into the muscles and connective tissue of the body. Use breath and awareness as tools to cultivate mindfulness and deep relaxation.
