I’ll be honest. Contrary to what some people believe, a yoga teacher’s life is not all peaceful and stress-free. I have been particularly stressed-out the past few months, dealing with some unpleasant situations and relationships that have been challenging to say the least. Sometimes the stress is overwhelming. Doing yoga helps, but it’s usually when I’m trying to fall asleep at night that all those negative thoughts start racing through my mind. That’s when I remind myself of the affirmations that a therapist I once had recommended to me. All is well. Everything is working out for my highest good. Out of this situation only good will come. I am safe. The Universe is conspiring in my favor. I repeat the affirmations over and over to give my mind something else to focus on instead of the upsetting thoughts. I repeat them until my mind starts to believe them. They’re like a mantra, and they work. I end up feeling more peaceful. All is well. Everything is working out for my highest good. Out of this situation only good will come. I am safe. The Universe is conspiring in my favor.
Om. Shanti. Peace.
