While it is generally acknowledged that there are only 7 chakras, I once took a Kundalini yoga class where the teacher talked about an 8th chakra, the aura. Ever since then I have included the aura in my annual Chakra session. My thinking is that, once we have balanced the 7 chakras located within the body, we send that positive energy out into the world. There is a Kundalini yoga kriya for balancing your aura which mentions its ability to increase your charisma, radiance, projection and luck by strengthening your aura, the magnetic field around your body. A strong magnetic field will give you the ability to transform your environments, and heal, uplift and inspire everyone around you.
While we did a few of the Kundalini moves for the aura in all of my classes this week, the real idea behind working with the aura was simply to project all that good, positive, balanced energy we’ve cultivated throughout our focus on the chakras this session out into the world, and really feel that beautiful energy surrounding us as we moved through our yoga practice this week!
