Managing For COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the Yoga Studio

March 8, 2020 //  by Christy

The Yoga Alliance–of which I am a member–recently sent out an email about how to manage for COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the yoga studio. I wanted to proactively share a few of their guidelines/suggestions and protective measures I’m taking with you:

*If you are sick please stay home and take good care of yourself.
*If you borrow props like blocks or yoga mats during class, please be sure to clean them with the spray bottles and towels provided after use, or bring a small towel that you can cover the blocks with while you’re using them. Better yet, bring your own props if you have them.
*The use of hands-on, physical assists/adjustments will be reduced for the time being.
*I do my best to keep the studio clean, but if anyone is willing to help out to do a quick wipe down of the floor and/or bathroom after their class it would be greatly appreciated.
*Though I’m sure I don’t need to mention this one–please use good cough and sneeze etiquette and wash your hands! 🙂 Yoga Alliance has provided some flyers that you’ll see around the studio with some helpful tips. Some online resources are listed below:

“The success of yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.”
